About Us
The Cobourg Memorial Temple was constructed in 1961, at which time a Not-For-Profit corporation was formed to manage the facility. A main objective of the corporation is to provide a meeting facility for the Cobourg Odd Fellow and Rebekah Lodges of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. These lodges also have a joint committee called the Cobourg Odd Fellow's and Rebekah's Humanitarian Services Committee, which oversees the majority of their charitable efforts. A major project is the hospital equipment loan service in which people are able to borrow various items of medical equipment, free of charge, for as long as it may be required.
The other objective of the Cobourg Memorial Temple is to provide a community facility for other local charitable organizations, cultural groups, sports teams and private groups, individuals or families to hold meetings, program activities and social functions. As we are a Not-For-Profit organization, we strive to offer our hall at reasonable rates that these groups can afford. However, we do have to keep up with the rising costs for utilities, insurance, taxes and ongoing maintenance expenses.
Our facility is currently used by an Art Club, Alzheimers Support Group, Quilting Group and a Stitchery Group on a regular basis. We also proudly host many family birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, retirement parties, bridal showers, baby showers as well as business meetings and events.
